Hartmut Hahn

The artist reflects the reality surrounding him in his paintings. A selection of works from his coastal landscape series, which was previously previewed, is now complemented by a series depicting passing figures.

Both conceptual series impress with their blurriness in a realistic style. Figures, objects, or landscapes lack recognizable individuality, while the images themselves possess it. This duality raises questions about Hahn's themes while also facilitating the viewer's identification with the figures in the paintings.

In this regard, it becomes clear how Hahn is influenced by the romantic landscape painting of Caspar David Friedrich.
