Vernon Trent
At the tender age of 9, Vernon Trent began his journey into photography, gaining his first experiences under the guidance of his grandfather, an avid photographer. A Rollei 35—a gift from his father, who wanted to nurture the boy's talent—has always been his constant companion and is still in use today.
By the age of 10, Trent had already garnered positive attention with an exhibition, which led to him receiving his very own darkroom.
This marked the beginning of a lifelong passion and a continuous evolution, both technically and artistically. Inspired by masters like Ansel Adams and Andreas Feininger, Vernon Trent acquired extensive technical knowledge and skill, ranging from classic analog techniques to historical wet plate processes.
A recurring theme in all his works, whether still lifes or nudes, is the shadow as the main motif: dark, atmospheric compositions and blurred elements make his style unmistakable.
