Ragnar Gischas
Ragnar Gischas, born in 1971 in Münster, has been living and working as a photographic artist in Osnabrück since 1998, focusing primarily on portrait, nude, and fetish photography. His approach to photography is entirely intuitive and self-taught.
The main goal of his visual representation is to portray people in their entirety and individuality. Rather than creating reproducible images of soulless, perfect bodies, Gischas dares to look behind the facades. Through intense communication between the "model" and the photographer, personal, expressive, and intense snapshots emerge.
"In my work, the focus is on the person, not the technique. For me, photography primarily means communication. The central theme of my work is people, their emotionality, and the exploration of individual boundaries." (Ragnar Gischas)
Contrary to stereotypes, his nude works do not primarily focus on the depiction of nudity but are understood as a means to break down distance. The authenticity and genuineness of the individual take precedence. In his diverse compositions, the artist manages to direct the viewer's gaze to the eyes—the gateway to the soul—thereby realistically conveying the personality of the models. His works communicate emotions, reveal depths, and portray facets of personality ranging from self-confidence to submission.
