The works produced by falk von traubenberg are characterized by the fact that they are essentially invisible. Instead of presenting the viewer with a perfectly formed image, he encourages them to create or piece together the images in their minds.

An artist who creates images only to not show them is a paradox – yet it is this gesture of refusing the surface that leads the recipient of the works further away from their expectations of an image object to the subjective images, a guided journey into the inner spaces of memory and imagination, filled with their own perceptions.

In "ein-portrait" or the "light box," the elements of glass, slide, and light come together. The "textur I portraits" are transformed from film portraits of well-known photographers into structural black-and-white works. Excerpts from the film portraits are transcribed into short texts that overlap and condense into new structures. In the "interform I portraits," manipulation also plays a central role: von traubenberg utilizes the suppressed creativity of a scanner, allowing it to more or less autonomously create new images from existing ones through the intentional introduction of errors.
