Color and Emotion

The paintings of artist Wonkun Jun, born in Seoul in 1970 and trained in painting under Helmut Federle at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, are striking for their complex depth, achieved through multiple layers of work, the application of thin acrylic paint, and washing techniques. This process allows Jun to create his emotionally charged color spaces. Behind the partly geometric, partly color-field images, one can almost sense the various applications of color.
