Kim Bierbrauer

* 1978

Fathoming out limits and playing with clichés is the main
topic of Kim Bierbrauer's work, which is reflected in
technique as well as in the work's subject itself. The
artist and photographer from Hannover was mainly
inspired by his journeys through China and the USA. In
addition to that, the "usual madness of daily life"
(Bierbrauer, 2013) and constantly asking why are
sources of inspiration for the 34-year old man. He is
using clear and minimalist style, including the observer
and giving space for interpretations.

He himself is describing his pictures as "interdisciplinary,
thoughtful, calm, including and observing".

His work is opening the limits between photography and
film, clichés and reality as well as work and percipient,
revealing a new understanding of the relations between
photography and film.
