Jürgen Bosse
Collection of Times:
Photographic moments found in unusual places.
Time is a continuum. Yet there are moments when time seems to stand still, and the experiences become strikingly clear. These are moments of joy, terror and fear, shock or joyful anticipation.
Nothing unfamiliar to us. Yet in the immediate experience, they are often felt as new and astonishing. It is only after experiencing these moments, almost after "waking up," that we notice how our sense of time has changed.
Bosse presents in his images moments where the passage of time has come to a halt.
He captures his unusual places and landscapes using a "Camera obscura."
This medium requires a longer exposure time to illuminate and depict. Just as our eyes must adjust to the darkness in order to see again. Latently, the image has long been present. Only the process of becoming visible takes time:
A segment of time falls onto the negative and is stored. And with it, movement.
From the past into the future to the present. From this, the image is generated. The representation shows the present arising from a collection of time.
