Holger Zimmermann

* 1970

Inspired by artists like Warhol, Wesselmann, and Lichtenstein, Holger Zimmermann begins to turn to painting at a young age and continues to educate himself in an autodidactic manner. Holger Zimmermann develops his own visual language that straddles nostalgia and pop art. He finds his motifs in magazines and publications from the 1950s and 60s, among other sources. By dissolving contours with a sensitive application of heavily diluted acrylic paint, he creates a unique atmosphere that feels both refreshing and evocative of memories.
