Galerie Philipp von Rosen
The Philipp von Rosen Gallery was founded in the spring of 2006 in Cologne and was originally known as Figge von Rosen Galerie. Since 2015, Philipp von Rosen has run the gallery independently and changed its name. The gallery closed its doors in November 2025 after presenting more than 100 solo and group exhibitions over nearly two decades. Its program included both emerging and established international artists and was regularly represented at international art fairs.
A central concern of the gallery was to promote artists who engage with the conditions and possibilities of their respective media and respond to social and political issues. This focus was reflected in the diverse exhibitions, which often pursued humorous and poetic approaches, such as in the exhibition "Deutscher Ritualismus," curated by Ignacio Uriarte, featuring works by renowned artists like Joseph Beuys and Anna & Bernhard Blume.
After the gallery's closure, the website will remain as an archive and information source about the extensive program and history of the gallery. The Philipp von Rosen Gallery has made a name for itself through its innovative approach to contemporary art and its dedicated support of artists.
