Galerie Guy Bärtschi

Galerie in Carouge, Schweiz
Guy Bärtschi

Present on the Geneva art scene since 1990, the Galerie
Guy Bärtschi has, throughout the years, developed a
unique and well defined exhibition program, confirming
its particular focus on art from the 80's until today. In
2010, it celebrates his 20 years of activity with an
exhibition with all the artists that participate on the
development of this programme.

The gallery is located, since September 2010, in the La
Praille district, a former industrial area which is
undergoing a major redevelopment project. This district
is destined to become a very dynamic area of economic,
social and cultural activity and will provide a model of
contemporary urban planning in the Geneva Canton.
This redevelopment project allowed the creation of
Quartier de l'Étoile, an association that brings together
eleven art spaces in this industrial area which aims to
promote art and culture in Geneva through a dynamic
program of exhibitions and international events.

With an exhibition floor space of over 250m2, the
gallery's mission is to promote the work of both,
established and young artists, such as:

Marina Abramovic, Cory Arcangel, Omar Ba, Per Barclay,
Alighiero e Boetti, Daniel Canogar, Wim Delvoye, Jan
Fabre, Philippe Favier, Vidya Gastaldon, Nan Goldin,
Fabrice Gygi, Myung-Ok Han, Kenneth Tin-Kin Huang,
Khaled Jarrar, Paul Lee, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Jennifer
& Kevin McCoy, Fabien Mérelle, Cornelia Parker,
Giuseppe Penone, Javier Pérez, Carmen Perrin, Antoine
Roegiers, Georges Rousse, Samuel Rousseau, Not Vital,
etc.

The gallery also plans the exhibitions of artists like Jim
Shaw, Santiago Sierra, Kelley Walker and Wade Guyton
from which the gallery has collected some works over
the years.
