With its spirit of departure and creative restlessness, Pop Art is more relevant than ever. This is showcased in the exhibition "LINE UP!" at the Cologne gallery 30works, which opens on October 29, 2011, at 8 PM with a vernissage.

In this contrasting group show "LINE UP!", 30works presents works by seven artists from Chile, Germany, and the USA. With their diverse styles, techniques, and subjects, they explore the full spectrum of the genre. Closely attuned to the pulse of the times, authentic and subversive, they expand the art movement with entirely new chapters—Pop Art for the 21st century.

Featured are works by Johann Büsen, Jörg Döring, Kati Elm, Agii Gosse, Volker Laue, James Rizzi, and Janet Toro. While their artistic languages are unmistakably unique, they share one common thread: the ability to translate the inspiring spirit of Pop Art into the here and now. With a wink, they look behind the illusionary machinery of advertising and consumption, playfully challenging our entrenched viewing habits.
