Eröffnung 30works II
30works is expanding! With its new gallery space at Pfeilstr. 47, it is moving into the heart of Cologne's city center...
When Gérard Margaritis founded 30works in the Belgian Quarter in 2009, the gallery quickly became one of Germany's pioneering addresses for Street and Urban Art. With the addition of contemporary Pop Art to its portfolio, 30works solidified its status as a key institution in Cologne's gallery scene, becoming a representative home for artists like Thomas Baumgärtel, Jörg Döring, AVone, Van Ray, Benjamin Burkard, and Rainer Augur.
The success story of 30works is now set to continue in the center of urban activity, at the triangle formed by Pfeilstraße, Mittelstraße, and Ehrenstraße. Rather than being a traditional program gallery, this new city location is designed as a fluid concept focused on new artists and fresh perspectives, aiming to sustainably broaden the artistic and genre-specific spectrum. "With Pfeilstraße, we have the opportunity to present Pop and Urban Art in entirely new styles and contexts. In this very dynamic, vibrant environment, it will be more playful, experimental, and eclectic than in our previous space on Antwerpenerstraße," explains Gérard Margaritis. This allows art enthusiasts strolling by to rediscover the gallery, while seasoned 30works followers can look forward to surprises around artist debuts, pop-up exhibitions, and special events.
For the opening on March 18, 30works II will showcase selected works by Jörg Döring.
