INVITATION - Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I invite you and your friends to visit our exhibition in celebration of the 90th anniversary of our gallery. With a journey through the decades of our exhibition activities, we celebrate the 90th birthday of the Kunstausstellung Kühl. Featured are artists who have had or continue to have a close connection with our gallery, though this list is by no means exhaustive. We hope that a guiding motif shines through: since our inception, we have sought out, discovered, supported, and accompanied convincing visual artists in their work, striving for long-term collaboration.
Quick success is rarely a good advisor. Our understanding of contemporary art also includes those whose experiences have matured over many years of life. Sometimes, an artistic work only receives the recognition it deserves posthumously. Even during this phase, we continue to support the ongoing work of the artists connected to us.
Facilitating art for enthusiasts, museums, and other public institutions, as well as involving restorers and art historians, is a fulfilling task and, of course, also a business that Heinrich Kühl dedicated 41 years to and Johannes Kühl 29 years.
For the past 20 years, this responsibility has been entrusted to me.
Thus, the gallery's anniversary is also an occasion to thank all the friends of our house, the artists, collectors, estate managers, historians, and staff from various institutions for many years of fruitful collaboration.
I wish you stimulating experiences and much enjoyment during your visit to the anniversary exhibition!
