Moritz Götze

* 1964

Born in Halle in 1964, he completed an apprenticeship as a furniture carpenter in 1981. From 1983 to 1986, he worked in various jobs before becoming a freelance painter and graphic artist in Halle in 1986, where he established his own graphic workshop.

From 1991 to 1994, he held a teaching position in serigraphy at Hochschule Burg Giebichstein in Halle.

In 1994, he was a guest professor in serigraphy at the Ecole nationale superieure des beaux arts in Paris.

In 1994/95, he worked on ceramic wall design for the atrium of the Messehaus Specks Hof in Leipzig.

He received the Art Promotion Award from the state of Saxony-Anhalt in 1996 and the Graphic Prize from the Vereinigte Zigarettenfabriken in Dresden in 1997. In 1999, he co-authored a book with Manfred Krug titled "66 Gedichte, was soll das" and received the Art Prize from the German Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken.

In 2000, he designed the visual identity for the Leipzig Book Fair and created the stage design for "Hamlet" at the Neuen Theater Halle in 2008.
