Mariola Laschet

Mariola Laschet, born in 1977 in Groß-Strehlitz, Poland, has been living in Germany since 1987 and currently works as an artist in Essen. In addition, she teaches painting and drawing at a private art school in Essen.
Experiences and structures, like everything that "whirls and rushes" in Mariola Laschet's mind, are transformed by the young painter into drawings and paintings. She confronts mimetic images of everyday life, often shaped in a humorous and ambiguous manner through the handling of taboos and clichés, with gestural abstraction. This creates a playground of fantastic thought images, a chaotic cosmos of possibilities that invites the viewer on an associative journey.
