Marco Jansen
Marco Jansen was born on February 19, 1982, in Hürth near Cologne.
At the age of 16, he first approaches painting in a self-taught manner, creating his initial abstract watercolors.
In 2003, he completes his first oil painting, "Devils Paradise." In the summer of 2004, he begins studying media management at the Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln.
In 2007, he establishes the GALERIE MARCO JANSEN ("GMJ"). In 2008, Marco Jansen discovers sculpture, creating his first "Tubesculptures," which are small, delicate sculptures made from empty paint tubes.
He completes his studies in 2009, focusing on "Marketing and Communication Management," with a thesis on "Conceptualizing Market Development Potential of the Cologne Art Market." That same year, he creates the series "Life after Death," where he mounts tree stumps onto wooden panels, works on them with an axe, plane, knife, etc., and finally coats them with various high-gloss paints.
Additionally, starting in 2009, he also delves into photography. In 2010, he plans an exhibition tour through Europe with PhilX, where he presents his vibrant "Fluxionpaintings" to the public for the first time during the inaugural exhibition in Brussels, showcasing the series "Galaxies Of Color." Based on the "Galaxies," he develops the series "Black Holes" in 2012.
