Izzy

IZZY ART - This distinctive new interpretation of art was born during her stay in New York City. Izzy began photographing intriguing subjects in Manhattan in 2008, capturing typical 'New York Pictures.' The photos, taken with her unique grainy technique, already possessed a certain aura for her.

Back home, she edited the images to create what she truly wanted to see in them, and then, on the canvas of her easel, she added her personal touch with brush and paint.

Shortly thereafter, her first portrait works emerged. The encoding in her chosen form of expression, the realization of portraying the subject in a way that an outsider had not seen before, while simultaneously protecting the personality to preserve the individual's last secret, became part of her discovery of expressing herself in her own artistic style, "IZZY ART," a new myth of 'portrait art.'

In Izzy's view, the eyes are the windows to the soul. They must be protected.

She adorns the main features of her portraits with her own, personalized ornamentation, a symbolic "identity protection" over the eyes, using the dominant colors she perceives for each person, influenced by Izzy's synesthesia*.

In April 2009, she portrayed Andy Warhol's famous muse, "JOE DALLESSANDRO" ("Little Joe") from Hollywood, who was honored this year in Berlin during the Berlinale.

Joe Dallessandro was so thrilled that by May 2009, the portrait appeared on the cover of the American "Punk Globe Magazine" as part of a feature about him, marking the first time IZZY ART was showcased on a cover in the American media. Joe commissioned Izzy to create a series of "Joe T-shirts" in three different IZZY ART designs. This edition is now sold worldwide by Dallessandro with great success.

Shortly after, "RANDY JONES" - the well-known founder of the "Village People," one of the biggest stars of the Disco Era, author, and actor - wrote to her expressing his admiration for the various portraits of Joe Dallessandro.

Izzy promptly portrayed Randy Jones. He was impressed by her artistic interpretation and her special Giclée print & hand-painted mixed technique in acrylic.

In the same month, Izzy posthumously portrayed "ANDY WARHOL," the great New Yorker who made 'Little Joe Dallessandro' famous, followed by René Magritte, Yves Klein, Salvador Dali, Basquiat, Beuys, Roy Lichtenstein, Jörg Immendorff, and others.

Many portraits of well-known artists, musicians, and stars like Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Mick Jagger, as well as commissioned works from private individuals followed. In 2010, the book "T-ADDICT" by the publisher Monsa/Barcelona on art and T-shirt designs was released. The Art Director Louis Bou saw various IzzyArt works in California and invited Izzy to include a selection of her works in his new book.
