Willingshäuser Gemäldekabinett
In his childhood home, Jürgen Wollmann did his homework at a Baroque secretary. Growing up in a creatively commercial atmosphere, he became aware of the former artists' colony Willingshausen, located just 10 km from his birthplace, and its museum "Malerstübchen." This led him to start buying and selling paintings, as well as facilitating the sale of "Schwälmer/Willingshäuser" artworks as early as 1980. During his studies, he met many art connoisseurs and collectors. Numerous visits to museums and his acquaintance with, among others, museum director Dr. Gerhard Seib introduced Jürgen Wollmann to the fine arts. His interest in the Rhön/Kleinsassener painters stemmed from the fact that about 70% of the Kleinsassener painters had once been in Willingshausen. Through the art dealer Horst Gies based in Treysa and his colleague Herbert Bieker from Neustadt/Hessen, Jürgen Wollmann became acquainted with many prominent collectors, and the documentation of painters, along with the buying and selling of paintings, flourished. The collected data and a selection of the best painting photographs up to that point were published in 1992 in the lexicon "Die Willingshäuser Malerkolonie und die Malerkolonie Kleinsassen." This work soon proved to be an important reference for art buyers, art lovers, painting experts, art galleries, and more, occupying a prominent place on the shelves of its owners!!! Should a supporter be found, there is enough photographic material for a three-volume supplement!!!
