The central idea of the gallery is "Kunst als Lebensmittel". Therefore, we understand pieces of art as a an instrument of communication and obtaining art as additional space for life. Subsequently, we offer hospitality and reverence to substantial art. In this process, we respect the individuality of each artist and the quality of their art, disregarding any isms and trends.

The gallery focuses on two complementary spheres of activity:

Predominantly young German art since the rise of Modernism with a special focus on newer developments before 1933:

The main focus is on Expressionism, "Neue Sachlichkeit" and "Expressiver Realismus". The gallery mainly considers the figurative art of artist groups like the "Novembergruppe" from Berlin, "Junges Rheinland" and the "Rheinische Progressive" but also artists from the "Hoelzel-Kreis" and the "Hofmannschule" from Munich, "Brücke" and "Blauer Reiter".

and European contemporary art:

Our main interest is the presentation and support of young artists whose approach is independent and individual with allowance for all sustainable artistic means of expression.

Contemporary and historical art complement each other in large exhibition projects.

Meanwhile, the gallery has developed into an extraordinary place for communication in Germany.
