The Stracke Gallery in Cologne is a specialized institution for historical textiles, focusing on the conservation, storage, and inventory of textile objects. The gallery offers comprehensive services ranging from condition assessment and analysis of textile materials to the development of conservation concepts. An example of the gallery's expertise is the complex conservation of the Peace Flag of the City of Münster from 1648, which is considered a significant historical monument. By revising a previous restoration, the flag's substance was secured, making it accessible for future public presentation. The Stracke Gallery places great importance on the scientific documentation of the measures taken to ensure the art-historical analysis and classification of the objects.
