Tobias Stutz - Samples
Tobias Stutz – Samples
Tobias Stutz paints spaces. Quiet interiors, popular design objects, and urban architectures become subjects of scenes in their own right. In Tobias Stutz's works, there are no actions of narrative complexity; they are purely places of vision. Figures and relationships between people are rarely found in his small-format pieces. Recently relocated to Bornheim after completing his studies in Free Painting under Prof. Fleck at the Kunstakademie Nürnberg, Tobias Stutz chooses newspaper and magazine clippings of beautiful new living and architectural worlds as starting points and reference points for his virtual spatial compositions in his new series. These "Samples" (excerpts, but also samples of goods) serve not only as a graphic foundation for his painting but also as intermediaries between globally communicated ideas of living spaces and the individual experience of the viewer.
