Lucia Deutscher - Aquarelle und Akte

kulturpass.net – the website of Kultur für ALLE e.V.
opens the "onLine – Gallery" with an exhibition by Offenbach artist Lucia Deutscher – Watercolors and Nudes

For three years now, the kulturpass has been available in Frankfurt am Main, enabling citizens who rely on state support (basic security) to participate in cultural activities once again.

Since then, the internet portal www.kulturpass.net has served as a virtual program guide, communicating the offerings that kulturpass holders can access.

The Kultur für ALLE philosophy has always been intended not only as a charitable initiative but also, in the best sense, as an enlightening one. We aim not only to facilitate access to culture for those who can no longer afford it but also to introduce people to cultural experiences. Thus, alongside the emerging anthology of the city writers from Bergen, 500 free audiobooks, the live stream from hr-2 Kultur, and the online magazine LUST AUF GUT, we now also present the "kulturpass onLine – Gallery." Here, we will showcase visual artists quarterly.

The gallery opens with an exhibition by the Dutch painter Lucia Deutscher, who has been based in Offenbach for many years (Watercolors and Nudes).

“When I have chosen my subject, I first take in the surrounding light, the sounds, people, cars, and even smells, capturing the feeling before I pick up the brush to make the first stroke.” (Lucia Deutscher, Offenbach am Main 2011)

Sometimes even the most ordinary details can shape the main theme and carry the atmosphere that characterizes the work. Her paintings are not limited to landscapes; she also applies her technique to urban scenes, still lifes, and nude studies, which are sometimes depicted in charcoal.

She enjoys splitting her time between living in Offenbach and Ibiza. “In the 1950s, the Spanish island was a refuge for many artists. Specifically, Dutch painters and poets fled the restrictive post-war atmosphere to find new inspiration in Ibiza. Even today, Ibiza still offers unspoiled landscapes with a combination of unusual brightness and the idea of freedom. Ibiza never fails to inspire.” Nevertheless, the artist has further travel plans and hopes to expand her portfolio with images from Asia in the near future. (Sarah July de la Garde, London 2011)
