"ABOUT LOVE AND TROUBLE"
The current exhibition features works on canvas and installations. Katharina Schnitzler explores the various aspects of Love and Trouble. She juxtaposes poetry like “I hang your wet shirt in the window” with statements such as “Before you were born, love was dead.” She confesses, “I love my boobys” and asks, “Where is Ai Wei Wei?” The aim is to disrupt, amuse, or envelop viewers in beauty.
Her artistic ambition is to represent the “in-between.” She describes herself as a researcher in the “in-between.” Although the background and foreground could each stand alone, they communicate and harmonize with one another.
“I want my images to be multi-layered, so that viewers don’t see them as empty, but rather that their subjective perception continually alters the image. The richness of all existence includes moments where everything seems possible,” says Katharina Schnitzler about her artistic intent.
