This whole world´s wild at heart and weird on top
Francesco D'Isa solo show:
Beauty Queens of a Post-atomic world, the protagonists of Francesco D'Isa's illustrations create a modern bridge between an art-nouveau and a cyber-punk aesthetic, as if Gustav Klimt had the opportunity to collaborate with Matthew Barney using the latest techniques in digital painting.
Trapped in the coldness and desolation of space age scenarios, where mechanics become nature, violence is the norm, sex is robotic, inhumanity is standard, and disability is the only sign of humanity, they remind us of the importance of staying wild at heart. Signs barely legible in small details: the complicity of a glance, the mystery of a hidden smile, the sensuality of a caress, the mischief of a childish game, like a secret language that the big brother, the ever-watchful controller, cannot decode.
