"Flame of Africa"

The 'photo gallery & art berlin' presents wood sculptures by the artist Moses Jarra from the Gambia. He lives partly in Sweden, but returns again and again in his African homeland, because of the light and tropical woods, he finds there and processed. He is a master of woodworking. He works with a shard of glass, sandpaper and a lot of time, he coaxes the wood finds her secret and encourages wonderfull, organic shapes to light, the lure directly to touch.

Surfaces as smooth and flattering, as can arise only from the hard wood of Africa, if they get into the hands of a real skill and lover of this material.
