Resonance and Preservation of the Ecosystem - ECO ZONE

Presentation of the Works from the Kim Whan Ki International Art Festival

The Kim Whan Ki International Art Festival took place for the second time in the summer of 2009 on the South Korean island of Anjwa in the Yellow Sea. Under the theme "Eco Zone, Echo & Ecology," this year saw the participation of seven Berlin artists for the first time. Together with 25 Korean painters and sculptors, they were inspired by the maritime, Far Eastern landscape over two intensive weeks. The works created on-site reflect a spectrum between untouched tradition and ecological modernity. After initial presentations in Kwangju and Seoul, the exhibition is now traveling to Berlin.

A total of works by twenty South Korean and six German artists will be on display:

The festival is curated by Dr. Oh Nam-Suk (Korea), who will be present at the exhibition opening in Berlin.
