William Greenwood was born in Salisbury, UK, and has lived in Darmstadt since 1998. A versatile artist, he masters graphic design, glass art, printmaking, and painting with equal confidence. Through his oil paintings on canvas—including large-scale formats—he reveals familiar Darmstadt landmarks anew: quietly, multilayered, and imbued with a serene grandeur.

He gained recognition for classic motifs such as the Mathildenhöhe, Prinz-Georg-Garten, and Hochzeitsturm—places we think we know, yet rediscover anew.

Greenwood takes his time with his art, combining lightness, precision, and foresight: *"When I have 30 works finished, I’m ready for a new exhibition,"* he explains. His last exhibition was in 2017. Now, the moment has come to step back into the public eye with his art.
