Zwischen Sichtbarkeit und Erinnerung

The group exhibition "Between Visibility and Memory" will take place from April 16 to May 8, 2026, at Galerie Schönewald und Beuse in Düsseldorf. The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for April 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM. This exhibition will showcase ten different artistic positions, featuring renowned artists such as Peter Doig, Katharina Fritsch, Isa Genzken, Sigmar Polke, and Gerhard Richter.

The exhibition explores the image as an epistemic space that oscillates between perception, materiality, and memory. It highlights the tension between abstraction and figuration, as well as between serial order and gestural expression. A central aim of the presentation is to renegotiate the relationship between surface and space. In this context, color is viewed not only as an aesthetic element but also as a constitutive aspect of the image structure and as a carrier of temporal experience.
