Soffuso

The exhibition "Soffuso" by Christiane Löhr will take place from May 1 to July 18, 2026, at the Thomas Levy Galerie in Hamburg. Löhr, who lives and works in Cologne and Prato, Italy, is known for her unique sculptural and installation-based works that utilize materials from the organic world. In this exhibition, she presents around twenty pieces, including several newly created works, arranged in a dialogical setup both on the ground floor and in the basement of the gallery.

Löhr's works are characterized by the use of materials such as winged seeds, plant stems, burdock, and tree blossoms, as well as hair from horses and pets. These materials are transformed into new sculptural arrangements without altering their inherent structure. The scale of her works ranges from miniature and medium sizes to installations that occupy large areas and redefine the space. The exhibition promises an atmosphere of gentle ambiguity, where the works interact in a balanced, flowing interplay with each other and with the space.
