Double premiere at 30works: For the first time, we invite you to the EKTRA offspace in Porz-Lind. There, we celebrate the debut of photographer Sebastian Trägner with his exhibition TRUE COLORS.

Breathtaking water worlds, elliptical rock formations, mystical reflections of nature: The landscape portraits by Sebastian Trägner possess a power and perfected aesthetic that feels almost surreal. They impressively demonstrate that the Cologne-based photographer has the gift of a third eye.

Rarely have landscape and nature photographs displayed such drama, where the archaic and sublime elements are always tinged with something fragile and elegiac. Sebastian Trägner manages to infuse his painterly photographs with emotion, extracting something profoundly touching from their grandeur. TRUE COLORS thus implies less a context of color than an authentic, truthful reflection on vulnerability and transience within the framework of universal beauty.

His body studies continue this theme: Although they may appear erotic, they align less with classical nude photography and more with sensual body landscapes, where feminine forms correspond with plant-like shapes to create an organic unity. Because the most intimate aspect—the faces of his models—remains unseen, the presentation carries a playful innocence and lightness. Far from any intrusiveness or explicitness, they resemble still lifes and, like Trägner's nature portraits, are unfiltered and genuine. In other words: simply "true."

The EKTRA offspace was conceived by art lover Negerito Schöngeist and is located in Porz-Lind. The former car wash on the grounds of the EKTRA gas station has been stripped down and transformed into a light-filled art and event venue.

At the opening of TRUE COLORS on April 30, 2022, at 8:00 PM, the chairwoman of the Cultural Committee of the City of Cologne, Elfi-Scho Antwerpes, will give a prologue on the topic "Cologne as an Art Location and the Importance of Offspaces." The introduction to the attending artist will be given by Dr. Ulrich Soénius.
