ARTIST’S CHOICE: HEITSCH >< MARRA

With ARTIST’S CHOICE, HEITSCH GALLERY celebrates its 25th anniversary by showcasing the artists HEITSCH and MARRA in dialogue.

Joerg Heitsch's work as a gallerist is deeply influenced by his engagement as an artist, which has always shaped the gallery's program with a focus on concrete art and Op-Art. The exhibition title reflects the concept of the curator as an artist and vice versa. It highlights the enhancement that both roles bring for an immediate, sensory-emotional connection to art.

Antonio Marra creates multiperspective paintings that transform into a vibrant kaleidoscope with every step.

Through the interplay of color contrasts and optical illusions, he allows viewers to experience unique visual and spatial effects.

Joerg Heitsch's project "Opening Worlds" visualizes the laws of evolution on Earth through geodetic formations in point, line, and surface, while also exploring the boundaries of optical perception. The foundation is the icosahedron, a Platonic solid, on whose two-dimensional surface variable visual spaces are created through simultaneous color contrasts.
