"Two Cities — Three Perspectives"

The first series of images showcases various famous landmarks in Paris. All the paintings are rendered in muted pastel colors, creating a cohesive character. One could say that the images in this series convey a specific mood. They depict Paris during the autumn and winter seasons, which is also reflected in the chosen color palette. Despite the clear recognition of the painted objects, the viewer's attention is meant to be directed towards the atmosphere that the artist conveys here.

In stark contrast, the images of the city of Saint Petersburg burst with bright, almost vivid colors, capturing the city by day and night across all four seasons. These paintings were inspired by various musical works; for instance, the piece "The Moon on an Autumn Night" is influenced by a song by Franz Schubert.

The third "perspective" presents the city in an abstract form, almost as a snapshot of a feeling. While individual architectural elements are recognizable, they are not tied to a specific city but rather serve as general symbols of a city. This series can be seen as a bridge between the two depicted real cities.

The artworks will be on display at N Galerie from March 1, 2019, to May 1, 2019.
