With Dirk Schmitt, the gallery presents an artist who creates new visual experiences through the contemporary interpretation of classical imagery. Wandering is the miller's delight. Since its development in the 19th century, it has become almost a part of our cultural heritage and has repeatedly served as a motif in visual art. The Cologne painter Dirk Schmitt has dedicated his latest works to this theme, once again demonstrating the uniqueness of his art: connecting the present with the art of past eras to generate a completely new quality of perception.

In doing so, the painter showcases his distinctive style, which has earned him numerous national and international exhibitions and representation in both public and private collections since the beginning of his career.

Committed from the outset to representational art, the former master student of Prof. Dieter Kraemer consciously continues to employ old painting techniques and styles.

As we are participating in the K1 gallery walk, like almost all galleries in downtown Cologne, the exhibition opening will exceptionally take place on a Sunday!
