Something to say by AVone @ 30works

AVone, also known as Anthony Vasquez, has long surpassed the status of a New York shooting star and is now set on conquering the global art scene. "Something to say," the fourth solo exhibition at 30works Gallery featuring AVone, is more than just a showcase of excellent pop art. It presents an artist with a message, successfully merging the artistic and the political in an aesthetic manner. In times when the clamor of national and international politics seems to grow louder by the day, where the most powerful man reduces everything that contradicts him to fake news, and right-wing forces, both here and abroad, openly wish for the abolition of press freedom, it is essential to find ways to make one's voice heard. AVone achieves this through his ability to distill the countless impressions he encounters in his hometown of New York into what is essential and needs to be said. He remains true to his artistic roots as a (admittedly illegal) sprayer, refining and expanding upon them. Today, he is the undisputed master of his medium, creating uniquely wild yet meticulously thought-out compositions from prints and print products, headlines, cover girls, tags, stencils, graffiti, tape, typography, cuts, color, and rust.

The artist will be present at the opening on October 26, 2018.
