Giuseppe Scaiola

The largely abstract works of Giuseppe Scaiola primarily explore nature, not so much in its concrete appearance but in its essence and color. Shades of brown, blue, and green are Scaiola's preferred colors, which he applies either in wildly dynamic all-over patterns or shapes them into swirling organic bodies in space. These are signs of organic matter, sensual, grounded in the earth, and direct expressions of deep emotionality, yet they embody forms of the highest abstraction.

Scaiola's painting has remained unaffected by trends and contemporary movements. It steadfastly seeks its own path – an impressively necessary position in today's art.
