Ausstellungseröffnung bei Galerie Frank Flügel am 28.09.2018: „Miles Aldridge – Dazzling beauty“

GALERIE FRANK FLUEGEL will open the exhibition "Miles Aldridge – Dazzling Beauty" on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 7 to 9 PM in Nuremberg.

The exhibition will feature new photographs by the British artist.

It will run until December 22, 2018.

Aldridge was born in 1964 in London, the son of designer Alan Aldridge. He initially studied design but later shifted his focus to video production. In the 1990s, he connected with British Vogue and began his career as a photographer. He has collaborated with Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, GQ, The New Yorker, The Face, and The New York Times, and has photographed for fashion designers like Lagerfeld and Armani, as well as creating advertising images for various brands, from cosmetics to automobile manufacturers.

Aldridge's works are part of several museum collections in London and the International Center of Photography in New York. Over the past ten years, the photographer has had numerous solo exhibitions in the USA, the UK, Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Poland.

Notable artistic influences include film directors David Lynch and Federico Fellini, as well as the graphic design of his father Alan, who created album covers for artists like The Who and Elton John.

Aldridge's portrait and fashion photography is characterized by its striking use of color. He stages his models and settings to the point of artificiality and parody, continually questioning the apparent perfection of his models and the unrealistic portrayal of women in advertising and the fashion world.

GALERIE FRANK FLUEGEL, with locations in Nuremberg and Kitzbühel, focuses on high-quality originals of Pop Art by Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Julian Opie, James Rosenquist, Alex Katz, and Mel Ramos. We also offer works by Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, and Basquiat. The growing segment of Street and Urban Art features artists like XOOOOX, Mr. Brainwash, and Bambi. Contemporary artists such as Robert Longo, Gerhard Richter, and Allen Jones can also be found in our collection.

Regular exhibitions take place at our centrally located galleries in Nuremberg and Kitzbühel. Participation in international art fairs rounds out our program.
