Where is fine art headed: digital art or neo eclecticism? Futurism or return to traditional subjects? The plain answer is: both. There has always been co-existence of various styles and genres, as yesterday so today.
This diversification and variety is exactly what “Summer Breeze” is all about – thus 30works would like to start an intercultural and cross-border dialogue, which opposes thrilling positions of the recent artists’ portfolio in order to put them together to a surprising and convincing overall concept. The represented artists – Johann Büsen, Benjamin Burkard, Salvador Ginard, Lúcia Hinz, Anja Middelberg und Lena Schmidt – work on back references to the “classical” stylistics and simultaneously dare a takeoff into new pictorial realities due to speech of material and motive as well as contextualization. This is why the works of Johann Büsen and Benjamin Burkard are like forerunners of a neo-surrealist style, whereas Lúcia Hinz and Anja Middelberg take inspiration from impressionism and expressionism and virtuously transfer these elements into Now.
Salva Ginard and Lena Schmidt on the other hand show us mysterious limbos – by which they upgrade the classical genres of portraiture and landscape painting.
