Color Storms. Exhibition featuring works by VERO

Visitors to the Langheinz art gallery can expect a vibrant display of color at the exhibition of VERO starting October 13, 2017. The opening night will also feature readings from "Farbstücke," the artist's new poetry collection, giving attendees insight into the creation of her watercolor and mixed media works.

For Veronika Emendörfer, known as VERO, it is essential to create from within rather than merely imitating the outside world. Her works emerge from a process of creative expression. In celebration of Veronika Emendörfer's 60th birthday, the Langheinz gallery will showcase 40 pieces in various, often large formats. The name VERO promises authenticity. Indeed, the artist has followed her own path from an early age. Fascinated by the interplay of color and form, she studied watercolor painting under Prof. Heribert Losert in Wörth a. d. Donau and took art courses on Goethe's color theory. Since the 1980s, she has been a freelance artist. After various artistic endeavors, she eventually settled in Darmstadt, likely influenced by her family roots. Her beloved grandfather, the renowned architect Prof. Ernst Neufert, once lived and worked here, undoubtedly shaping her artistic aspirations. Today, VERO is recognized as an established artist; her works are exhibited in galleries, featured in book designs, and displayed in numerous exhibitions. She draws inspiration for her creations from her walks around Darmstadt. She enjoys being among people: "I am in the city every Saturday. I sit in cafés and let life wash over me." From these experiences, she gathers impressions of new colors and forms, which she transforms in her studio into a world that resonates with her vision—multifaceted, colorful, captivating, and deeply profound.
