Ines Hock "View Elbe"

Born in 1960 in Wetzlar/Lahn, Ines Hock lives and works near Cologne. From 1979 to 1985, she studied art education, along with biology and philosophy, at the University of Mainz and the University of Arizona in Tucson, USA. From 1985 to 1987, she attended the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, studying under David Rabinowitch.

Ines Hock presents new watercolors inspired by her journey along the Dresden-Elbe.

Those who have eyes to see and the leisure to immerse themselves in her delicately colored, luminous, and dense watercolors will discover a buoyant, inviting world that not only rewards moments of pause but also opens the senses to a existence beyond time maximization and life efficiency.

In well-placed rectangular fields of color, the artist embarks on a journey of discovery across the paper until every last field is filled. The viewer encounters truly beautiful images as a flowing rhythm, as seemingly randomly arranged color panels, or as a synesthetic harmony of color.
