Thomas Baumgärtel Bananen(r)evolution

Thomas Baumgärtel, born in 1960 in Rheinberg, better known by his pseudonym `Bananensprayer`, studied Fine Arts and Diplom-Psychology at the University of Cologne and still lives in Cologne. Since 1986, he has marked the most interesting art locations around the world with his banana.

It serves as a quality seal and an unofficial logo of the art scene. His work encompasses street art and spray art, but also classical techniques such as drawing, printmaking, and collage, as well as overpainting of old paintings and objects. Thomas Baumgärtel's works can be found in numerous private and public collections.
