SABRINA HAUNSPERG – Painting, as well as the group exhibition SURPRISE curated by Sabrina Haunsperg.
Sabrina Haunsperg (*1980, Hallein/Austria) continues to explore the theme of painting in her third exhibition, showcasing new works.
Her canvases are meticulously prepared using traditional oil grounds, before the pigment mixture is applied in countless layers to the evolving artwork. The artist pours and sprays the paint, with the oil pencil increasingly coming into play towards the end of the painting process.
“As a result, what emerges is not a product of chance, but rather a well-balanced outcome of her engagement with the material of paint and its optical effects on canvas.”
