Beyond Imagination

On Friday, March 17, 2017, we warmly invite you to the Galeria Frank Krüger Berlin at Gendarmenmarkt for the opening of "Beyond Imagination," featuring recent works by Mike & Madeleine Bülow, starting at 6 PM!

The artist couple, along with Frank Krüger, will be present, and we look forward to a colorful and engaging evening!

To set the mood, here is a text about the works of Mike & Madeleine Bülow by art historian Dr. Gerhard Charles Rump.

"Color is, as we know, not an inherent quality of things, but a function of our perception, which allows images with a focus on color to resonate deeply with people: their visual perception, emotional stance, and life experience. The works of Mike and Madeleine Bülow are unique in several respects.

Due to their fluid production method, they are non-reproducible. Once created, they can never be the same again. Their existence is a singular affair: born from the direct interaction of subject and medium, they embody the romantic dualism of material and process, defying limitations and demanding concentration on pictorial values.

A strict, ascetic approach, no matter how airy and playful the subject may appear, merges with universal statements. For the viewer, a tangible quality emerges that seems to exist outside of this world. In the act of seeing, nothing dissolves; it is akin to a romantic arabesque striving for infinity, naturally in a contemporary form—no evocation of the past, only here, now, and perhaps then...

In some recent works, the play with perception is varied, as figurative associations arise from the chosen perspective: the emergence of shape perception... Recognizing the familiar within seemingly chaotic visual stimuli.

At the intersection of finitude and infinity, fascinating phenomena often emerge: The images of Mike and Madeleine Bülow appear to be describable, yet they are incomparable and impose their own conditions for the reflection of imagery through their uniqueness and material allure."
