Yosman Botero Gómez was born in 1983 in the city of Cúcuta, Colombia. He graduated in 2010 as a visual artist from the University of Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia. Throughout his artistic career, he has received several awards for his achievements, most recently at Art < 35 Sala Parés in Barcelona, Spain.

His work unfolds from various elements and includes drawing, painting, and video installation. In the exhibition Monstrualia, his three-dimensional works will be displayed on glass panels. In his painting, he focuses on the reflection of space. The artist constructs holographic images, concentrating on the role of the individual in society. He paints the separated fragments of an image in multiple layers, composing the subject in a way that reveals parts of its hidden identity. Through this method of painting, he creates an illusory effect that makes inner demons visible. It serves as a time capsule, showing how reality is distorted by the growing lack of human contact and how we transform ourselves into our imaginary demons. The artist currently lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
