The paintings of artist Wonkun Jun, born in Seoul in 1970 and a student of Helmut Federle at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, captivate with their complex depth, achieved through multiple layers of work, thin applications of acrylic paint, and wash techniques. This allows Jun to create his emotionally charged color spaces. Behind the partially geometric, partially color-field paintings, one can almost sense the various applications of color.
