Steve Meyer - Soloausshow

Steve Meyer studied at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Fine Arts.

His inspiration comes from the human being. In his creative process, he focuses primarily on the faces of unfamiliar people. He seeks out ordinary, sometimes even vacant beauties, peeling back their layers and studying them. He distorts them in his works—without harming them—into expressive, striking visages until they no longer appear realistic. This reveals much that would otherwise go unnoticed. They become permeable and partially merge with the background.

His characters appear vulnerable and delicate. Some possess an animalistic quality while simultaneously exuding a strong sense of awareness.

Initially, Meyer painted with oil on canvas, but he now employs a variety of media, including wood, paper, watercolor, colored pencils, and graphite. His works are becoming more finely structured, aiming to penetrate deeper layers.

Live Act Vernissage: Juston Buße, a Berlin-based author known for his readings, has been performing on Berlin's spoken-word stages since July 2014. In his stories, he describes everyday observations, and his quirky, offbeat texts provoke thought on social issues. The author aims to contribute to a better world through his work.

In November 2015, his first book, "Der neue Job I-XV," was published.
