Franziska Strauss - Street Photographs 2005-2015
"[street photography] photography that features chance
encounters and random accidents within public space."
The public space is one of rules, self-display, compromise and
behavioural repression. The slightest change in facial
expression or posture can trigger many questions, that I note
through the act of taking a picture. You’re touching a piece of
privacy carried into the public, that is a part of being human,
we all share in one way or another. So through the camera I
see humans, not individuals, and a „them“ when taking the
picture, becomes an „us“ when looking at the photograph.
