Maud Laurent & Marina Roca Die - Bodytalks

Vernissage on February 19 at 7:00 PM

A visual dialogue between the artists. The focus is on the analysis of the human body and its psychological transformation.

When the human form is depicted in art, we identify with it. We feel empathy for the bodies of others.

The challenge in drawing the human body lies in its duality. On one hand, the inner, emotional aspects; on the other, the outer, physical ones. The interplay of these factors inspires the artists. Their works create a dialogue that emphasizes and expresses the intensity of the figure, its qualities and weaknesses, its precision.

At the same time, a conversation unfolds between the representations. They speak of their forms in an intimate exchange. They explain the moment of their own creation.

Maud Laurent, born in France, studied Fine Arts at the Université de Strasbourg. She specializes in drawing and printmaking techniques.

In her drawings, she combines forms and lines in tension with light and shadow, created by the folded or crumpled paper she uses.

Marina Roca studied at La Escuela de Arte La Palma and Estudio Arjona in Madrid. Her drawings and paintings focus on human psychology through the transformation of the body.
