Tom Melsen - Soloausstellung "Eyes For Eternity"

Tom Melsen lives in Rotterdam, Holland. He is active in a variety of artistic fields, but is primarily known for his expressive paintings. His works often blend drama and aggression into a melancholy that makes them fascinating and unique pieces of art.

Critics describe his work as original and distinctive. His painting is modern yet reminiscent of classical artworks. Melsen primarily paints portraits in which he depicts the intense loneliness, despair, and inner turmoil of anonymous, fictional characters. He has also worked on a series of collages.

The artist's goal is to provoke and elicit emotional reactions from the audience with all his artistic skill. He is by no means interested in adhering to prescribed rules and refers to his art as "an organized chaos."

In 2014, Melsen was nominated for the highly regarded Palm Art Award by the Art Domain Group (Leipzig, Germany). His works have been published in numerous magazines worldwide.

He studied music in Dresden, has released 7 CDs, and performs concerts solo and with various bands across Europe and the USA.
