Eine Frau für Großvater!

The Kunstsammlung Pankow acquired the estate of Art Brut artist Kurt Wanski (1922-2012) in 2013, who lived in Berlin-Weißensee since 1971. On this occasion, the Galerie Parterre Berlin presents a selection of works by Kurt Wanski from the collection alongside pieces from the drawing group at the Haus Maria Frieden in Berlin-Niederschönhausen. For over 20 years, Berlin painter and sculptor Achim Niemann has been working with the residents and individuals with disabilities there in weekly workshops.

In 2005, the Galerie Parterre Berlin showcased the internationally awarded works of this group for the first time in the exhibition In anderen Wahrheiten.
