The human figure is one of the oldest motifs in the history of visual arts. The face represents the most interesting, personal, and revealing feature of a person. From a person's face, we can infer character, origin, or social status. It is the essential symbol of their personality and identity, the most expressive and communicative part of the human body, conveying moods, states of mind, and feelings.
The works of the artists in the exhibition demonstrate the many different perspectives from which a human face can be seen and interpreted. They have employed various media and techniques, ranging from painting and drawing to xilography and photography.
Participating artists include Aiv S. (Spain), Arano (Germany), Beatriz Crespo (Spain), Ivan Prieto (Spain), Jessica Rimondi (Italy), Juan Blanco Urribe (Colombia), Karmen Kraft (Spain), Katharina Willers (Germany), Krizsai Andrea (Hungary), Sabatino Cersosimo (Italy), Vivien Esme (USA), and Zoe Miserez (France).
